((Good grief, now I'm responding to two different things at once))

Well, Grannit, I've offered the courses of action as I saw them. And asked for advice. What the big-toothed merc offered sounded less like advice and more like his orders, which isn't going to work here. If a large group of mercs is going to leave the city as part of the golem efforts, it's gonna need my approval. I'm not approving of this plan because, like I already mentioned, his idea of how they will react is contrary to how they've acted so far. They are more likely to attack his group outside the city than attack the city because a large group of Blue Wolves left the city...and that's all he could possibly take in any event, because that's all has any authority to command.

Also here were dwarves here when my name was proposed by someone else and voted on while I wasn't in the room. If you don't like their choice, you might want to take it up with them. That decision has been made.

I've asked for advice and input, and listened to what everyone had to say. I've made my decision on what our next step is going to be. Unless someone wants to tell me about a way we can deal with this base from a distance...like that earthquake spell or osmething similary then we have to deal with it by going in and our first attempt will involve a small group based on stealth. The Skallagrim, dwarves and mages obviously serve at their pleasure. I'd like a volunteer to lead it...but the mercs need to decide who they want to offer from their orgainizations before they leave because, by decree of the nobles, their role is to be involved in just such an attack. It's stipulated in their contracts. So make me a list, make sure they're capable of taking part in a clandestine mission like this and of following orders that might not come from their own unit.

Volunteers can see me. The mercenary leaders need to give me a list of members suited to the mission before they lead...or we can take it up with the Bagels.

----

Now, for Miku and Helene.

The Skallagrim are here as our invited guests, and not to be insulted. There has been much animosity on both sides, but this isn't the time to reopen old wounds. Both are capable of defending themselves from the golems and counterattacking, but they can gain from respecting and aiding each other...isn't that right *looking at Helen as she tries to leave*

((For this part, remember Aric has a fairly high Diplomacy rating. He wasnt' espeically trying to be diplomatic with Olin and Gran...more like he's saying "enough, I'm the one in charge here, and that's not fodder for another debate."))

Arthur follows her out and tries to say something to make things better or atleast make her understand that not all the lowlanders think the same.

Olin does not speak or shake his head during this but it can be seen in his eyes that he disagrees.

[With a low growl to his voice Grannitt addresses Aric directly.]

[Still leaning against the wall Grannitt pulls out his pipe and taps it a few times on his palm before lighting it.

*Helene's eyes narrow only slightly, she twists the doorknob and continues on her way.*

OOC: This is a diplomatic response from Helene, probally not what you were looking for but had it not been Helene would have given a hateful response and she hates all lowlanders.

*Lips curl as she looks to Arthur and growls.*

Times do not change, why should we expect them to now Lowlander? Your kind will always think themselves above us.

*continues on her way weather Arthur speaks again or not.*

*Aric leans over the podium and growls right back*

I said earlier on the dwarves aren't under any obligation to me or Stonereach, so I don't know why you're piping up about that now, Grannit. But I do represent Stonereach as a whole at this meeting so the same respect you're wanting of us...*he scowls* I'm expecting out of you.

*He leans back and softens his tone* I didn't expect the dwarves to take part in a mission that called for any kind of stealth. No one would ever doubt your courage or your steal, but we all know you prefer a more direct approach. That kind of approach seems a bad plan for this base, and I've spoken my piece on why and asked for thoughts a long time ago.

This meeting is done. *he ignores any more protessts, walks over to the door and waits with his arms crossed for the representatives of the mercs*

Allie slinks out the door thankful no one tried to volunteer her skills for the job.

Shivi looks slightly confused but leaves the meeting.

Koran volunteers for the stealth team.

Arthur peeks back in but seeing the the meeting is over sighs and walks back with Shivi.

Olin gives a nod to Grannitt but sits and waits for the rest of the crowd to leave before approaching Aric.

*Hours later Tallic walks into an empty meeting, and finds a left over muffin, eating it, leaves and wonders what he missed. He considers looking for Jackson.*
