(Undead moan.. as I Necro this thread)

I cant believe i missed this one....

I am a player who does not care for PvP. I would only condone it as long as it has a valid plot reason or RP requirement for an issue to move forward. "I don't like you and you don't like me" PVP is BS. I will not PK on PVP. I have no problem using PK on a plot event as these are meant to be epic...

and I only play Good PC's anyhow...

Plenty of people want to kill Good characters. All the time. They're annoying, self-righteous, and half the time or more bastards!
... Somehow your characters (or at least Duncan) don't meet any of that, so they're not targets. If you make a paladin anytime do expect that to change.
Good characters are just as guilty as Evil characters in hostile PvP, and if there's a Paladin involved its quite likely there will be a death somewhere as a result.

PvP in a relaxed non-death situation is really quite fun. Like if you're training as mercs and want to spar. Or Aessina and Leon test people in the Mage's Guild for advancement with a Mage's Duel - In which a raise scroll is placed on the floor for use as a backup, but if you kill your opponent (or yourself) you fail the exam.
PK is sometimes needed. Sometimes two characters simply can not steer clear and one must eventually kill the other. Usually a paladin is involved in this. And personally I'll complain if you kill me in an event, but don't mind PvP (which I think I've said in this thread, but don't wanna reread).
Then again, as a DM its half my job to kill all your favorite characters. (I'm quite poor at this.) Which infinitely cheapens event-related death for me.

LOL..this i have done in game, I never realy considerd this PVP..simply RP as it was a non hostile RP setting. I guess I separate the two for some reason.

I've killed a few people here. And with a good enough reason in character you're more than welcome to try and kill my characters.

I find it more appropriate that instead of thinking about if it happens to your characters, to plan for when it happens. Particularly in a setting like this, you're very likely to cross somebody wrong. Escape plans, friends for every occasion, and a few dirty tricks up your sleeve just for the occasion are all worth your while. The cardinal rule: Do not walk yourself into a situation you can not get yourself out of or handle to see through.

I am a fan of healthy RP PvP. Unfortunately, player attachment to characters usually drags personal feelings into the mix and leads to this seeming stigma people have against PvP.

Not exactly my class. But that's me. And I would like to think I'm fair at tipping the scales in my favor.

Ok, I posted in this thread before, but I am doing so again, wohoo!

*Ahem*

I'm a horrible person for this, but if someone kills one of the characters I'm attached to, I will be pissed. I wont be able to stop myself from hating whoever did it enough to ever DM for them again. I'm sorry, but these characters are mine, and I'd hate to lose them becuase someone else decided their characters didn't like them. You don't break someone else's toys. Took me forever to really work out where I stand on pvp, but it's there. You do it, and I will likely try to make you regret it.

...And isn't that nice of me? *Sigh* Sorry, really. I'm only human. *Wanders off grumbling*

I seem to recall damn near forcing you to not just let her die from a lag spike :p You were the one killin' her ^^

'sides, I'm faaar more comfy having characters die in events. Odd thing, that.
